A measure of success

during Episode 76 of Rundle’s Ramblings (*)  a inordinate amount of time was spent on the discussion of what success means.  Its a meaningless discussion that assumed universal standards exist.  They don’t - not in business and most certainly not in a game.  Yawn.

But such goals do exist on a personal level.  Each of us has goals and clearing them qualifies as success and spawns higher goals.  My goals are not yours, so the following may not apply to you at all.  Shucks.

Hulks and Roleplay

The war between the naive high-security miners and the goons who suicide them continues – apparently in perpetuum.  I don’t specifically care for either group much.  The miners bore me with their whining about “security” and the gankers bore me since they represent the anonymous and self righteous mass that makes up 90% of online (and RL) populace.  And as a Wormhole Dweller and non-industrialist, I don’t care much for mining anyway.  So, this little drama should not bother me.

Clubbing a Baby Seal

So, I blew up a hauler yesterday.  I had been looking for a quiet route to highsec and found a C2 with an Itty V and a Mammoth intermittently appearing on Dscan.  I fired core probes and found their High sec static and in the process gave my presence away.   But the 2 haulers kept jumping in and out of the static WH right in front of my nose. I hold still, we don’t want to tick off the neighbors since we need the route ourselves.
